So it happened again on Saturday, pukie joined the party. I hooked up with my new friends at CrossFit Des Moines for a workout, Event #3 from the games. It was a team WOD and round 1 went 14:53. Second round two was a mix of the top finishers from the 4 round 1 teams and we put in a tremendous pace for a final time of 9:32.. About 30 seconds after the first round I started to feel it, 30 seconds later I was adding some color to the back lot.

Instead of continuing to puke my guts out after a hard workout, I decided to hit Google and see what it could tell me and the first link was exactly what I was looking for.
In short, overwork is causing a depletion of blood to the stomach and GI tract, as a result the brain says “stop that shit” and makes you vomit. A pretty good, if not crude, way to make you stop what your doing. The fact that WOD’s are usually a little shorter than it takes to make me puke means I puke when I’m done – except in the case of the dirty dozen.
