CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

I came across the main site through a friend, and begain CrossFit training in earnest in September of 2009 after years of on and off weight lifting routines and a just being generally bored at the gym. Having been a former competitive cross-country skier and runner going on 30, I had joined a big chain gym and told myself as so many people do that this time would be different. I did some personal training sessions. I got my VO2 max rated. I was poked, proded, and measured, and weighed. I was given very pretty charts and graphs in very glossy folders filled with advertisements for supplements. Sadly, I once again became bored. Coming from a fitness background I was chasing a level of intensity I hadn’t experienced in nearly a decade.

Since starting CrossFit in September of 2009 and joining Topgun in March of ’10 I have set and exceeded nearly all of my strength goals. In September of 2010 I received my CrossFit level 1 training certification and began this crazy training endeavor. I love telling people about “my gym” and how we scream, sweat, swear, and lift heavy. How half of our members are women and they all deadlift and squat. How we use chalk generously and crank out pullups by the dozen. It’s simultaneously my most and my least favorite thing to do, I can’t get enough of it and I am better at everything else I do as a result.

Hobbies: Mountain biking, snowboarding, rock climbing and being a big computer geek..

Favorite workout: Anything short and intense. Preferably with pull-ups and/or running in it.

Least favorite workout: ring dips.
