How did I find Crossfit?
My brother Steve is the trainer and he asked if I would be interested in
giving him feedback about his instruction method and classes before he
brought in “real” athletes.

How long have you been with Crossfit?
Almost exactly one year.

What do you like about Crossfit?
I really like the constantly varied workouts. When I first started, I had no idea what kind of workout I would be doing that day. Some days are really tough physically, some days are really tough mentally, and some days are just plain hell. Now Steve posts the workout on his website so you can see what you will be enduring that day if you wish.   I usually don’t look because I like the surprise element.  I also really like the group concept. We have people spanning about 40 years in age, and all abilities. The one constant is that everyone who sticks around gives 100% nearly every workout. The group concept not only adds an element of healthy competition, but it makes working out a positive experience with such a supportive group.

Proudest Achievement?
I would have to say being able to deadlift as much weight as I do for my size. Steve is great in that he pushes people to do their best, yet cautions against overdoing it. If it weren’t for his coaching I would probably never even attempt to lift as much as I do.

Favorite Exercise?
I tend to favor and excel in the workouts that have many different exercises, even burpees.

Least Favorite exercise?
Turkish git ups. I have only done them once, but that was enough.

Other hobbies?
I am not a hobby person – I like to do pretty much anything, but not the same thing all the time. Perhaps that is why Crossfit suits me so well.

What would you tell others about Crossfit?
You don’t need to be in shape to join, but you do need to be committed to getting in shape. Crossfit requires a certain level of dedication that is not the same as going to a regular gym. With that said, I bet you will like Crossfit 100 times more than your monotonous gym routine.

You really do see improvements in yourself and others, which motivates people to keep coming back. Steve does a great job challenging people and keeping them safe at the same time.  Come get some…
