HOW DID YOU FIND CROSSFIT?
I was at a party with Cougar and asked her where she got her arms. She told me Top Gun CrossFit and the rest is history.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT?
I started in April 2010
WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU NOTICED WHILE DOING CROSSFIT?
I have always been tall and on the slender side without a lot of muscle or strength. Now I have much more strength and muscle. I don’t have Cougar’s arms yet, but I am working on it! I have also noticed that I can push myself more when I go out for a run. At points where I may feel winded or fatigued, and would have stopped in the past, I can now confidently tell myself to power through it because I have during CrossFit and survived.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT TOP GUN CROSSFIT?
Every day I arrive at CrossFit, look at the WOD and tell myself, “I can’t do THAT.” And every day I leave CrossFit and I say to myself, “I did THAT!”. So 3-4 days/week I accomplish the impossible. That is an awesome feeling.
Hmmm… “favorite” doesn’t seem like the right word, but I would say that my form is best on the deadlift.
LEAST FAVORITE EXERCISE?
No surprise here, it is burpees. I tend to be quite slow at them which can really kill me in for time WODs.
Another tough question. I did “Grace” for Barbells for Boobies last October and was really proud of finishing it strong, cheered on by a whole crew of people, all for a great cause.
My current goal is to transition to blue band pull ups.
