CrossFit Level 1

 

Hi, my name is Jason, nickname Vinny, and I’m one of the trainers at Top Gun CrossFit.  I started doing CrossFit during the summer of 2010 and liked it so much that I went for my CrossFit Level I certification in April 2011.  My short stint of coaching has been a blast.

I’ve been pretty competitive in sports my whole life and as I’ve gotten older I started to get little nagging injuries.  I decided that I needed to be committed to a strength program to help overcome the injuries and I chose CrossFit. CrossFit is much more than a strength program – it’s about Fitness.  As defined by CrossFit fitness is eating meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar; practicing major lifts, mastering the basics of gymnastics, and biking, running, swimming and rowing hard and fast.  Mixing these elements into many combinations and patterns as workouts 5 to 6 times a week keeping workouts short and intense.  CrossFit goes beyond fitness.  It’s about being a part of a community too.  We encourage each one another during the workouts.  We are competitive and hold each other accountable to doing their best and showing up on a regular basis.

Family: My wife Dana, son Max, and three dogs Sam, Tucker, and Torreys.

Hobbies: biking, mountain bike racing, and playing hockey.
